So who's for some reggae influenced dnb?
eg. Digital (sound killah, no more violence), Calibre (mr majestic), some Shy FX & T-Power, some Potential Badboy...
I really like it, brings in some summervibes Spliff Rasta

As long as it's original and sounds good, I dig it Big Grin

My box has a lot of digital and ray keith stuff in it, but I don't play it at parties that often, just to relax at home

I know all that, but that doesn't mean I have to like ragga, now does it? I don't like ragga or DnB that's influenced by it.

fair enough, but my point is really that all dnb is influenced by reggae.

ok we had calypso, then we had ska, this developed into reggae........then came the sound systems......then during the 50s,60s,70s there was a mass exodus of jamaicans to places all over the world....its widely acknowledged that the street parties in the us from which hip hop and turntablism developed were majorly influenced by the jamaican communities..........i think you can see where im going with this........hip hop, samplers, disco, funk, house, garage etc etc etc etc etc

Shocked reggae dnb Shocked Shocked Shocked

here's my opinion (strictly personal)
"reggae & dnb" makes me think to :

dark & white, fade & bright, fat & slim, delicious & jupiler, delicate & drunkard, modest & french, computer & works, for & against, with & without, driving & drinking, up & down, before & after, drugs & health, bruxelles & halle & vilvoorde, east & west, north & south, sun & rain, iPod & cheap, knokke & durbuy, hell & heaven, etc, etc, etc...

you get my point ? Wink EITHER one, OR the other. they so can't be mixed, or by mistake

i love dnb
i hate reggae

neurofunk for ex. has nothing to do with reggae whatsoever.

only due to the construction being dnb and dnb owes in return to reggae - is that your point ?

like saying Napalm Death has been influenced by the Beatles Shocked

point is that the early jungle tunes had strong reggae influences which added this wicked vibe to it. i personnally love it. the stuff frisko mentioned is wicked, but the best stuff is tunes like 'ganja man' and 'police and helicopter'. that stuff was the best!

lol frisko course im not on about that, i know my jungle . . . somewhat. Im on about the one done by Krome and Time I think.

the best stuff was on the rogue trooper and gjs unite compilations man. wicked track im reliving at the moment is "Smokers Rythym" by DJ SS.

Oh and who doesn't like 'Original Nutter'? The best tune ever created, unless I'm very much mistaken.

without dub & reggae jungle or dnb would not exist as we know it today (or maybe it wouldn't even exist at all), respect the roots of this music
