Other people on this forum are getting married (congratz btw..) others become fathers (and/or mothers).
I, for one, became a father this night. My daughter's name is Soerke, and being an adept and fast learner, she can already sneeze! Olé!
Too tired to elaborate on this, but after reading the marriage-thread i just couldn't resist making a similar topic.
Bye now!

We're from Belgium, although my daughter still seems to be a descendant of a an alien planet... it's not a really standard name, we came up with something that sounded good.
Weirdness, here i come!
Unbelievable what a little human being 48cm small and 3,17kg light does to you.

It can be best described a undescribable, i guess.
Everybody knows what making kids and family and pregnancy entails, what a delivery/actual birth is like, what a baby looks like, what a nurse in a nursery looks like. But that is not even remotely close to what happens when you see your own baby open her eyes and look at you, focused for sure, but not really being physically able to control the muscles around the eyes to maintain a steady focused view, but, definately, focused.
The faint grasp of the little fingers, at least 20 times smaller than your hands around your pinky.
And last but not least: the little noises. I'm a sucker for those little noises.
Bird-like pitched tones and murmurs....
Yeah, it can be best described as undescribable, i'm sure.
