Shinead O'Connor - Nothing compares to you - magnificent song, and sung just perfect.

Hall & Oates - Maneater
These guys made some real pearls, everything is perfect in this track.
and
Hall & Oates -I Can't Go For That love the drums, love the bassline, love the synths, love the guitar... Just perfect. So funky so soulfull and mega mellow. This might be my favorite tune of all time. Instant feelgood!
The Normal - Warm Leatherette this is the kind of stuff I grew up with. Loved every bit of the New Wave scene back then. This was very underground electronic stuff back then and it still is now. (The video is crap, but the original tune has no video).
Also grew up on The Neon Judgement who are hot once again with the electro revival. And The Sisters Of Mercy I still get goosebumps when I hear this track. Early Front 242 also got me in the direction where I belong today (here's one more with a WEIRD video).

Wow, never heard that one before but that's a goooood tune. Love it!
Sounds like a cross between Gary Numan-Depeche Mode-David Bowie. All of which are brilliant.
Btw, that one is no way embarrasing.

@Tomos: The Sisters Of Mercy where gothic before gothic even existed, it's really dark music, me likey likey a lot
@Clarkfader: I would never dare to touch a H&O track for a remix, I love those old beats, it simply adds up to the whole song.

i dispute that , as these tunes need to be reinvented to make others who havent heard the old classic tunes !!!! i`ve had loads and loads of old 70`s - 80`s tunes , made into house tracks on record , i love the originals plus the newer versions !!! the best things about the remakes is that the sound qualitly and production sounds so much better and clearer , and the best thing about being remade , is that , you can get the best bits of the record , and loop it to your hearts content
, cause alot of the old tracks only had certain breaks that were the best parts of the song !!!!!! anyway trust me , its just the original , plus the house beat , no remix , no new samples or anything , just pure class , i used to play it out alot , it was a floor filler , everyone used to love it !!!!!! the promo was hard to get as well !!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been hearing the Timbaland remix of "It's too Late to Apologize" lately... I'm a sucker for good half-tempo beats.

ok, found a new one Split Enz - Message to my girl
Damn that's just a perfect track...but it's pretty cheesy
And from the same guys (more or less) Crowded House - Don't dream it's over
Hey, I even liked (attention, very embarassing!
read at your own risk!) George Michael's track Careless Whisper back then, although I noticed back then that it is a cheese the size of an average planet. I always liked the phrases: "I'm never gonna dance again//guilty feet have got no rhythm"... good songwriting their.

I really like this Simon Webbe tune a lot, My Soul Pleads for You. It's actually a genuinely good tune but I still find it a little cringe-worthy to admit I like it cos it's basically written for girly teeny boppers, as opposed to grown men in their late twenties like me.

I know what you mean dude, I also like "Genie in a bottle" from Christina Aguilera although most of her tracks get me into a coma.

Bitch
you put that so well.
Found another one: Spice girls - Two Become One. The tune's sound is awesome. If you want to learn good mastering, try to achieve the master sound of this tune. Awesome.
