Hello, I have been a drummer in a metal band for about 2 years.
I have at home electric guitar, real accoustig drums realy big set and mix pult.
In the studio were we ware recording the demo songs, I have see the Cubase power and I buy myself a copy.
I buy the EZDrummer too. But.
My band it broke now and I realy don't want to start agein, couse it's big emotional thing to play 2 years with them end then just boom... nothing.
I really wanna try to do some different kind of music that I can make it on my own only - like a single artist.
For example drum'n'bass it's realy greate style of music, I really like it.

I download the samples from your website, realy big thx.
But I don't know how to load them in Cubase...

So please tell me do I need something else to make them sing Smile

Thx Smile
p.s. please excuse my bad english Smile

EZ

Well you got a couple of choices

a) You can import them directly into an audio track (Edit>add track>audio track then file>import>audio file )

or

b) get hold of a vst sampler (google shortcircuit for a good free one) and load the samples into that on a midi track (create it in the same way as above but midi track instead of audio)

If you import a loop straight into an audio track you will obviously be limited to the tempo of the loop unless you cut it into individual slices either manually or by creating a .rex file using a program like proppellorheads recycle or zero x beat creator. The loop would then match the tempo of your cubase project

Many drum n bass producers work by importing single hits straight into cubase audio tracks and arranging into drum patterns, so 1 track for kicks, 1 for hats, 1 for snares etc etc

This means that you can eq and effect each component of your beat individually which is very useful

Anyway, rambling now so will shut up

Hope it helps

feel free to pm me if none of that makes the slightest bit of sense

Peace

load them in a library

Or, put them in your pool

once you got your pool/library, simply drag the corresponding sample into an audio track

Or use a sampler to organize and edit your samples (e.g. Kontakt 3 is excellent for this)

Or use libraries in Cubase AND libraries for your sampler/instrument,

Once you build this personalized database, tracing samples will be a breeze

And, definitly most important, rtfm, this will help you more than anything. Wink

All the people above me are correct, however my friend there are a couple of other ways you should consider.
1. Rewire. I rewire with Reason or Sony Acid 6. Works really really well. I have to
thank Axiom for that tip.
2. Use the mediabay that comes with Cubase. I will warn you though that the
mediabay is a strange beast to conquer but if you work it out its pretty good!
3. I use kontakt monoliths preset mode the mode though and I use the quick load
function for ease of use.
anyways... good question.

Hope that helps.
