Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows the lowdown on the backing noise commonly used in dnb. Its that backing sound thats really squelchy You'll know what Im talking about when you hear it heres just a few of the many songs its in:

TC- Let Loose remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxV33Pm5Mec

Sub Focus - Triple X http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyKWPfcwi04

Audio Unit - Squelle http://www.dnbsource.com/_includes/playe...layer=quicktime

A bit in Evol intent - Era of Diversion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3gnshFn60Y

Kind of in DC Breaks - Taken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwHhCMPhTC4

Cant think of anymore off hand, but there are loads more!

Is it a preset or somthing? How is it made?

Thanks!

What? You mean that bassline? Well, in a lot of cases it's an 808 basskick with distortion. Valve distortion to be precise. Getting the distortion right is what it's all about...

exactly, use an 808 kick and distort it, for some good sub action you might want to hi-pass the distorted 808 at about 100Hz and layer a non distorted 808 kick underneath.
