i think theres quite a few of his tunes, silicon mistress off the top of my head tho i cant rember exactly, where he has a long intro / outro with just the beat so i guess u could have that if u wanted
just get yourself some breaks (some on the samples page in case ya didnt know).........then mess and edit with em till it sounds close to the sound you want.
to also help, try messing with fx on them eg- compression, equalizer
(a must!!), reverb.
if you are in fact a proper newbie, then you will find this is excellent practice.
also try making your own breaks from scratch, using one hit samples (kicks, snares, hihats, rides, bongos, cowbells.....anything!!)
you will hone your skills much more if you combine using ready made loops and making your own (thats what i do).
then compare them to the sound you are wanting, and tweak em till they are to your satisfaction.
