Yes it was a latency issue.Idecreased the buffer setting in my audio interface(from 1024 to 512 ) and now the auto quantize works beutifully. Thanks for the help guy's.

Auto quantize in cubase SX 02-10-2004 04:27 Forum: Cubase

Does any one program synths/drums in cubase SX using a midi keyboard and auto quantize.I can't seem to get it to work properly. For example if I'm quantizing to the nearest eighth, then all the notes are an eighth ahead of where they should be.I don't hear any latency what so ever, but I don't know what else it could be.

''can't control the panning volume from the midi tracks either, i think that's a battery problem ... just use the instruments ' automations to control that ...''
I figuerd that part out, after you assign battery as a vst, you open up your vst folder and you will see "bty1",click that and thats how you control volume and pan(along with effects and eq) without opening battery. The thing is,there should be more of those chanels, for example in halion there are 18 of them and thats how you get more programs running at the same time.As for battery there is only one.
As for assigning a second battery module as a vst,I've tried that too but when I do it, nothing sounds right ,everything is completly messed up.

battery with cubase 28-08-2004 21:46 Forum: Cubase

If anyone out there uses battery with cubase sx,could you explain to me why I can't assign different battery kits to different cubase midi tracks.I set it up in battery so that there are different kits assinged to different programs and i set up the cubase midi tracks to recieve them correspondingly ,but they only play the kit thats currently selected in battery .This is easy to do with halion but I can't get it to work with battery. The other problem is that I can't control the volume or pan of my battery kit from the cubase midi track.Again this works for halion, but with battery I can only control pan and volume from the program it self.

SX drum editor snaps/pops? 12-08-2004 02:59 Forum: Cubase

I had a kick drum running through a midi track from battery, was programming it on the drum editor in cubase sx and the last kick sound on the four of the second measure had an annoying snap or pop sound.Has any one else encountered this in the cubase sx drum editor?

This is a great song. The intro and middle section(or break ?) could use some weird noise and sounds to kind of fill them up,just to keep the listener interested, before everything cuts in.Also the ending just cuts off,if you added something ,again maybe some weird sounds or noisy fade out.Other than that its great, one of the better d&b songs I've heard.

Can't get them in Canada, you have to order it from the web site. However, the place where I'm finacing the Korg Triton carry Akai products.I can trade in the Triton($3900.00) for an Akai MPC4000 studio($5800.00),and just extend my payments. The only problem is that the salesman told me he heard a rumor that Akai is going out of buiseness.Any way the MPC4000 seems like an amazing piece of gear,I just don't know if I should do it.If I keep the Triton I could get a good pc for under$1500.00.

No,but I can't get a good reference from these horrible computer monitors.I'm going to a couple of music stores today,if any of them have a machinedrum I'll have them set it up and I'll try it out. Bigup

it's used for electro, i don't think it's suitable for dnb. If you wanna make breakz, just stick to samplepacks and a step sequencer
I was talking more about the sound quality itself ,but programming wise I think you could do a lot of cool stuff with it.

What piece of hardware would you guy's prefer ,Akai 4000 or Electron MachineDrum.I'm assuming the Akai 4000 has built in drum sounds does it not?

Thanks guy's.I was also told from another source that ,along with cubase,I should also use..." sound forge for sample editing - recycle to cut up the breakbeats...reason to get some ideas...and a load of effects and instrument plug ins..."what about some other sources for drum sounds, for example drum machines(specifically for electonic music) and or high end samplers?Any suggestions on brand names and or units that would work well with the above pc set up?

Drum hardware/software suggestions 17-11-2003 11:07 Forum: Hardware

Can anyone give me some advice on what a good piece of hardware or software is for programing d&b drum beats .I'm in an industrial project and in my previous recordings I used an alesis sr16 in conjunction with a live kit and a roland V-concert electronic kit.But now the v-kit is gone ,the live drums are going to be used mainly for live shows and a korg triton studio is being used for drum programing, however the triton is proving to be some what tedious as far drum programing is concerned(what do you think of the triton?).So I need some thing that's a little more practical for drums, with the ability to throw beats together quickly(with great sound quality of course),and edit them more easily.I'm using a roland vs-1880 as a sequencer/recorder(in conjunction with the tritons sequencer),but I'm thinking of going out and getting a good pc along with Qbase,so I'm open to software and or hardware suggestions. If any one could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks.
