It doesn't matter- just render out the audio and layer it back in. I never used Kontakt much, mainly applied certain effects (such as Camelphat and Ohmicide) and automated all the knobs. Splitting the baqss into low/mid/high bands for separate processing helps as well.

I wish man!

I have absolutely no following so far, so I posted up the full length songs on my Soundcloud and am giving this one away free for download. If I can build up a fan base through this type of promotion I'll be in much better standing to have my work signed in the future.

And being so lucky as a European hopefully you recognize some of the views in the video? Tongue

I produced this track and shot the video during a trip to Europe in the summer. Please view it in 1080p if possible, it looks a lot better in HD.

The entire film was shot using a Canon Rebel XT. I took individual frames and then compiled them into an animation. The whole video took about a month to complete.

Hope you guys like it!

It sounds like a classic synth brass preset. I got one of these which can create that sound quite well:

However I'm not sure how to do it on the computer. The hardware synth was only $90 used, well worth the investment if you are considering buying software.

Please check out my new track 'Chronologic- No Quarter (wip)' and post your comments here!

Hello everyone,

It's been ages since I posted anything on here, I mainly produce electro and have largely moved on from dnb production. This clip isn't dnb but it's pretty much a breaks track... if it's too far from dnb please remove it.

This is very much in progress, I need to work on the mix and develop the arrangement. Any feedback is appreciated!

If you would like to hear my other electro stuff, check out soundcloud.com/chronologic

I think I had this problem once... I can't remember what I did, but I'm pretty sure I closed out of all my other programs, restarted my computer and everything worked out. There might have been a problem because I opened up a video which set my ASIO drivers on 48000khz...

If all else fails you can just re-install Windows oir get a new computer...

Not sure what processing you're using but I think you need less distortion from the start. Keep reigning in the distortion with filter movement- the bandpass filter in Camelphat works well because you can individually adjust the high and low cut. Split the bass channel into 3 layers, sub/mids/highs etc and distort and process each one differently. If you get tearing accents in the highs, it will sound much clearer. Keep the lows less distorted.

On The Grid (Dogs on Acid) there were some very good tutorials by Spinlock and also Loachm (Can't remember how to spell his name) but these you can search for yourself.

You can also find good tutorials here: http://durkkooistra.com/category/tutorial/

I have a question:

If you start sending your tracks out to labels, should you change the tracks on your Soundcloud/Facebook etc to previews, rather than the full pieces?

For the glides, use the portamento function on your synth. Render out a clip of your bass, drag it into your project as an audio clip, then slice it manually for the stutters. ?? Profit!

I've had similar problems using the Waves REQ- whenever I do a cut, the gain goes up by 2 dB or so.

Gadhafi-step: Riots break out on the dancefloor, bouncers go nuts, cops wait two weeks for a warrant before shutting down the venue.

McD'step: Audience of two billion, hard to move with it, everyone feels like shit the next morning.

LotR-step: Epic drops, too many endings.

Star Warstep: Classic genre but the newer stuff is totally shit.

Pop: The light beer of electronic music.

History-step: Always repeats itself.

Rollercoaster-step: First drop is always the biggest.

Barber-step: Too much clipping on the master.

America-step: Not so popular in the rest of the world, but leaders like to sing along with it.

Elderly-step: Genre is slowly dying out.

I really like adding CamelPhat to my drums (and just about anything else)

I find that the distortion always adds more power to the sound, while taking it down several dB, so it's a good way to give yourself more headroom. However, you may need to add an EQ after the CamelPhat to pull out some of the unwanted harmonics and low end rumble.

Hip Hop Break in Noisia-Painkiller 10-02-2011 09:35 Forum: Production questions & answers

Ok, I never really post up "how do I get this sound threads" but I'm really stuck on this one. I really like the break that comes in at 33 seconds. I think they might be using some kind of distorted acoustic break for the cymbals, but I'm not sure. The one-shots that I have just don't sustain and slice like the cymbals in the Noisia track. If anyone could point me to some suitable techniques or samples, I'd be much obliged!
