Everytime 08-01-2015 22:59 Forum: Tunes

Haven't been on here in years!

Anyway, was going through WhoSampled the other day and decided to rip a couple of tracks used in well know jungle tunes and make something myself.

Slightly dubby, soulful jungle thing. Only spent few hours on it with Reason. Mostly samples though instead of synth. Back to the old school methods, NO AMEN! Wink

Brucifer - Rising 25-09-2012 02:59 Forum: Tunes

Ages since I've been on here. Looks like it's changed a bit!

Anyway, something I'm playing with using Reason 6.5

Not mastered, just a mess about Big Grin

Using the beta at the moment. Some really nice effects to play with. It's pretty much the same as Record, but with a few changes in the menus etc. I believe it will have a dongul for security. I'm sure you wont be dissapointed Big Grin

Thanks everyone.

I own Reason, so got selected for the Beta test. Some nice new stuff in it. Only thing is the debug program built into the beta, which is a real drain on cpu, so having to use it at a lower quality rate and be a bit selective with the devices... Roll on September for the real thing Big Grin

Quick thing I just made using the Beta version of Reason 6

Mastering isn't to great, think I over compressed it...

Easy Battle.

sounds nice mate. Love those Rhodes hits.

My only complaint is the drums could come forward a touch, but its only minor.

Great job =]

I don't post on the propellerheads forum. I use reaper, when I can be bothered to make a track.

Yeah mate, I had some old Omni Trio rips I did from my own vinyls. Funnily enough, some are back up by some others now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8E0oRgXSBI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyoBa2JWNug&feature=related

I have some old No U Turn stuff up among others. I contacted Nico from No U Turn and he was really pleased people were putting his stuff up. Actually heard from an old No U Turn artist who I used to know years back asking for a copy of one of his own tracks... The tune is long out of of press and he had lost the dat tapes (actually, he's had a few bit on Moving $hadow) Big Grin

I know a couple of people who had there sites removed because of M$. I contacted them about getting permission and they said they were doing there own uploads.

Here it is. As you can see, not many uploads at all. Bit strange from a label who ripped loads of music off, but then again, I do understand the business side of it Big Grin

I was lucky enough to have bought that when it first came out.

Dred Bass sampled a Seal tune as well.

Come to think of it loads of oldschool records sampled Seal, and Bros. lol.

Big Grin Never knew about the Dred Bass sample. I hope they paid for that one. I got threats of copyright infringement a year or 2 ago for putting some old Moving $hadow stuff up on Youtube Huh

Selig, do you post in Propellerheads forum?

The thing with hardcore back then, was that way the tracks were made was with incredibly limited software. So the synths were samples from hardware synths, lots of people used guitar effect pedals instead of vst's etc etc...

Also, quite a lot of producers would sample large sections of tracks, instead of small vocal cut like now days. Lots of track were very limited presses, so lots of people didn't bother clearing copyright usage either.

Please check out my new track 'Intro (any Ideas)' and post your comments here!

Something I've started, not quite sure where to go with it. I think possibly Dillinja or John B terrain.

Any ideas?

Midi Files 25-04-2011 09:09 Forum: Production questions & answers

Just wondering if anyone uses midi files at all?

I have downloaded some midi files from various metal bands, more the heavier stuff, not gonna say who though Wink and have been having a little play with them. Some of them have had quite nice results.

Hello mate. I saw your post before you edited it. It is a cool track, but I want to say that the impact would have been better if the drop etc was a bit louder. To me, it sounds like it is compressed and has lost some energy (just given it another listen) after the intro. The intro has a far wider range of frequencies, which is making the main thing lose power. I'm using Sennheiser hd205, which arn't to bad. As I say mate, it is a cool song though Smile

Nice amazon style fx mate.

Bit dissapointed by the drop. The amen isn't powerfull enough. Bass is week as well.

Ok, Your intro and bridge are fantastic. The rest isn't over original and needs working on. Second half is better though. I thought it would go into a Limewax/Donny/Tech Itch style thing to be honest.

It's not bad though, but without the Amazon thing, it wouldn't be any thing special. I don't mean that to sound to harsh, It is a good track, just think it needs some work doing =]

Stereo is a bit wide on intro.

Stereo is to wide on synth aswell. Bit annoying.

Drums need coming forward a touch.

Getting a bit repetative mate...

Not bad, but needs some other elements.

Nice intro bruv. Love the reverse (what ever it is)

Drop is heavy mate, like it.

Needs some more elements though. Tune isn't much more than a loop really
